High profile BrightSign ramps quickly in Europe

From a standing start in 2008, digital signage player specialist BrightSign saw rapid growth in Europe shipping 20,000 of its low cost players in 2010. Neesham PR launched BrightSign into Europe with a programme that combined strong relationship building with the core digital signage publications alongside intensive outreach to vertical publications.

BrightSign’s European success

BrightSign shipped and installed over 20,000 of its low cost, solid state digital signage players in Europe in 2010. Its installations included some of the highest profile retailers in the region, such as 1,500 networked sign controllers at 80 FNAC entertainment stores throughout France. This installation received two major awards, including the Golden Screen Award (Ecrans d’Or) for the best digital signage installation in the retail category by the French Digital Signage Association, APCAD.

BrightsignBrightSign players have also been extensively adopted by Europe’s wealth of museums and attractions, including the Letterkundig Museum, The Hague, The Netherlands, the Eden Project in Cornwall, England, and Bristol Zoo in England.

Other 2010 successes include a project with Swiss sportswear manufacturers ODLO to showcase a new range of high-technology cycling undergarments. This success was achieved by Pierre Gillet, BrightSign’s VP Europe, working with a network of 20 installers in the region.

Neesham’s PR support

Neesham and its German partner  implemented a PR strategy for BrightSign that included:

  • A launch through editor meetings with the major digital signage publications at ISE in Amsterdam in 2008. Followed up with further meetings with the CEO and the VP Europe over successive years
  • Intensive program of article placements based mainly around case studies in Europe and the US to reach BOTH the digital signage and relevant vertical titles
  • Aggressive identification of further opportunities for publicity such as opportunities to comment and awards.

As a result of this program BrightSign saw:

  • Regular and high profile exposure in the European digital signage and vertical media
  • Twenty-three case study placements in Europe over two years
  • Shortlisted for four awards – and won one
